Beowulf

Beowulf, the epic poem, describes an epic hero of the Anglo-Saxon times. Beowulf fought three big battles in his life that showed all of his many characteristics that made him a hero. His first battle was with Grendel where he shows his superhuman strength by being the only person brave enough to fight Grendel. Next he has to go to Grendel’s mother’s lair which shows him performing great deeds. In the end he shows he is significant and glorified when he fights a dragon at old age. These are just three of the many characteristics that make Beowulf an epic hero.
One of the traits Beowulf shows that makes him an epic hero is his superhuman strength. He shows this in the first battle by ripping Grendel’s arm off.
