Dear Robbinsdale school board,
I am writing about putting the book Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury back on the shelves. I think the book deserves not to get ban. Fahrenheit 451 shows some true and reasonable things for what might happen to the future of this country and world.
Ray Bradbury tells the readers about nuclear wars and the censorship of books. Ray talks about the country having two nuclear wars. Then all of the people in the city have like a omni theater that surround them during their off time. The people in the city just be lazy and watch TV, and they acting abnormal when the TV is off. This shows what is already happening with kids as they come home and watch TV and play video games all day. The people is also banning books, because it offends a group of people. Most Schools are banning books, because they offend some parents. Some of these books that are being banned can actually good to read. When newspapers disappeared Not a single person even cared in the book.
If Only one student signed up for gym, It is showing how when people don’t have to go or need to get an education they don’t go to it. It is very easy for people to get caught up in electronics and they become like a robot.
Plus the book shows when the worlds has no education, which the book includes burning books, Ray Bradbury said He wrote this book because at the time he made the book, here was threats of burning books and saw the media is losing interest in books so he wrote a book to show the media and the world what would happen if the continued to forget about books, and in the book his tell the importance of books “‘The books are to remind us what asses and fools we are.'” And ironically it get banned as well.
In conclusion If the school board wants to ban Fahrenheit 451 they would be a non reasonable choices based on one parent’s concern. The book has some educational importance and shows some good and bad predictions toward the future of the people. To ban the book would be no difference than burning the book.
