How successful were the labour party reforms of 1945-51?
Starting from 1945 to 1951, Clement Attlee was the newly appointed prime minister of the labour governemnt. His aims were that he would improve social and economic conditions snf problems that were faced in the Uk.The main aims were;to create a fairer society and improve the lives of ordinary people,he knew to do this he would have to slay the five giants (Want,Disease,Squalor,Ignorance,Idleness).To improve economic conditions unemployemnt problem would have to be fixed.As well as this people asscoiated the economic failures of the 1930s as labours fault.Due tio thuis a report was released called the beveridege report that was written by william Beveridge a well known british economist and social reformer he stated that in order to slay these five ginats welfare reform would have to be introduced into the Uk, These reforms to introduce would cost the Labour governemtn and the country millions to iintroduce but it was seen as one of the only options to help the country out long term economically.
