INTRODUCTION:
Expose to the understanding that conflict of man ‘s mind results into the outburst of
World violence. It is necessary for establishing world peace to develop peace with in
the minds of man.

In the task of peace construction in a minds, religion plays a significant role. Of all
the tries and quest by a man to secure world peace, faith plays the foremost
outstanding role.

According to scholars Religion is mainly a concept that is defined as the
Inability of scholars to agree on single concept. It is a common belief in a spiritual being and exclude all types of rituals.

ISLAM BEING A RELIGION:
Islam is a monotheist religion according to which ALLAH is the only GOD and Hazrat
Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the last prophet of ALLAH.

Basically ISLAM means the voluntary ‘submission’ and ‘surrender’ to the will of ALLAH. The word ISLAM comes from the root word “SALAM” which means “PEACE”.

Islam teaches that this life is solely a trial for the individual to show them his true nature that how thing will end and then this end will lead to a new starting of life which would be eternal.

PILLARS OS ISLAM:
TAUHEED (ONENESS OF ALLAH)
NAMAZ(SALAH)
FASTING
ZAKAT
HAJJ
Out of the five pillars of ISLAM, HAJJ is one of the most important aspect.

It is compulsory for every Muslim who has enough amount and is able to perform it. The Hajj is the largest annual gathering of Muslims in the world. Hajj became obligatory in 9 HIJRI.

In 10 HIJRI Holy prophets (p.b.u.h) started Hajj with large number of his companion 25 of ZIQ’AD. On 4th ZILHAJJ he reached MECCA and performed Umrah there. Then he performed all the acts of HAJJ after that he reached at the ground of ARAFAT,
Where he delivered hi famous and well known sermon which is known as “SERMON OF HAJJAT-UL-WIDAA “which was the last sermon delivered by Holy prophet (p.b.u.h) before his ummah. This sermon proved to be the guidance for every Muslim to lead lives in a righteous and peaceful manner. and also what ALLAH wants from HIS people.

TEACHINGS OF ISLAM
Islam being a religion became universal just because of its teachings. ISLAM is the only religion which was established on the code of ALMIGHTY ALLAH regardless of all kind of discrimination on the basis of race, caste, creed and culture. Moreover, Islam is not just a religion but a complete social system which holds rights of every individual in this society.

Islam is a system which teaches its followers to lead life in a proper manner. It guides its followers about every aspect of life and provides detailed guidance for every small matter of life.

Its major aspect is the believe in Allah and prophethood of Hazrat Mohammad (p.b.u.h).
It is obligatory for every Muslim to lead their lives in accordance with the teachings as prescribed by Islam.
Islam has laid down some universal fundamental rights for humanity as a whole, which are to be observed and respected under all circumstances. To achieve these rights Islam provides not only legal safeguards but also a very effective moral system. Thus whatever leads to the welfare of the individual or the society is morally good in Islam and whatever is injurious is morally bad. Islam attaches so much importance to the love of God and love of man that it warns against too much of formalism.

We read in the Quran: “It is not righteousness that you turn your faces towards East or West; but it is righteousness to believe in God and the Last Day and the Angels, and the Book, and the Messengers; to spend of your substance, out of love for Him, for your kin, for orphans for the needy, for the wayfarer, for those who ask; and for the freeing of captives; to be steadfast in prayers, and practice regular charity; to fulfill the contracts which you made; and to be firm and patient in pain (or suffering) and adversity and throughout all periods of panic. Such are the people of truth, the God-conscious.” (2:177)

There are two major aspects in which Islam has provided teachings those are:
Moral teachings
Social teachings
MORALITY IN ISLAM:
Teaching on ethics and moral conduct found a basic principle of Islam, and the moral themes form a large part of it. The Quran and the Hadith – the vital religious writings of Islam – serve as the primary source for it. Both the Quran and the hadith often speak in insistent manners to educate the Muslims to adopt a morally noble character.

By setting God’s pleasure as the objective of man’s life, Islam has supplied the highest promising standard of morality. This is bound to provide never-ending paths for the moral progress of humankind.

It instructs for man a system of life which is centered on all good and is free from all evil. It appeals the people, not only to exercise virtue, but also to form virtue and eliminate immorality, to attempt good and to prevent wrong. It wants that the decision of conscience should conquer and virtue must not be passive. Those who respond to this call are grouped together into a community and given the name “Muslim”. And the singular object essential for the formation of this community (“Ummah”) is that it should make controlled effort to establish and implement goodness and defeat and eliminate evil
Humility, modesty, control of passions and desires, truthfulness, integrity, patience, steadfastness, and fulfilling one’s promises are moral values which are emphasized again and again in the Quran.

We read in the Quran:
“And God loves those who are firm and steadfast.” (3:146) and also:
“And vie with one another to attain to your Sustainer’s forgiveness and to a Paradise as vast as the heavens and the earth, which awaits the God-conscious, who spend for charity in time of plenty and in time of hardship, and restrain their anger, and pardon their fellow men, for God loves those who do good.” (3:133-134).

SOCIAL TEACHINGS OF ISLAM:
While Islam stresses on firming the connectivity with the Creator through worship, it also delivers moral principles to link human kind.

A huge percentage of the Holy Quran and wisdoms of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) involve with social concerns and human duties. The virtuous aspect of Islam portrays an individual, who is socially dynamic and honestly accountable, determined for the benefit of humanity.

Islam has specified extraordinary worth to human self-worth by designating the human being as Ashraf-ul Mukhluqat — the noblest of creatures. It also highlights the factors that affect human dignity negatively such as ignorance, deprivation and disease. Hence, it stresses on abolishing such circumstances to maintain human self-esteem.

The teachings of Islam regarding social tasks are centered on kindness and concern of others. Meanwhile an extensive command is to be kind is likely to be ignored in specific situations, Islam sets emphasis on definite acts of kindness and defines the duties and rights of several relations. In a wide circle of relationship, our first obligation is to our immediate family – parents, husband or wife and children, then to other relatives, neighbors, friends and acquaintances, orphans and widows, the needy of the community, our fellow Muslims, all our fellow human beings and animals.

According to Holy Quran:
“Your Sustainer has decreed that you worship none but Him, and that you be kind to parents. Whether one or both of them attain old age in your lifetime, do not say to them a word of contempt nor repel them, but address them in terms of honor. And, out of kindness, lower to them the wing of humility and say: My Sustainer! Bestow on them Your mercy, even as they cherished me in childhood.” (17:23-24)
“And render to the relatives their due rights, as (also) to those in need, and to the traveler; and do not squander your wealth in the manner of a spendthrift.” (17:26)
SOCIAL AND MORAL TEACHINGS IN THE LIGHT OF LAST SERMON
HAJJAT-UL-WIDAA proved to be the summary of the whole prophetic life of Hazrat Mohammad (peace be upon him), as he delivered it emphasizing on the all the major aspects of human life addressing His “UMMAH”. It is the verified as the last message of Allah whose speaker is the Holy prophet (p.b.u.h) to the whole mankind.

This sermon is the first charter of human rights and freedom. It frames all the messages and commands stated by Allah. The points he shared with people gave a simplified view of Islam that puts it all in a nutshell.

The main points that were emphasized in this Sermon are stated below:
LIABLE TO ALLAH:
He stated at an event:”Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your Lord, and that he will indeed reckon your deeds.”and he also stated:”Remember one day you will meet Allah and answer your deeds. So beware: do not stray from the path of righteousness after I am gone.

From these words this can be indicated that every individual must every time remember that he/she is accountable to Allah for all his deeds and shall have to answer for every single sin that he /she has done intentionally or unintentionally.

Prophet Mohammad (p.b.u.h) showed a right path to the mankind to lead their lives in accordance with the teachings of ISLAM as per prescribed by ALMIGHTY ALLAH, also He warned his followers not to engage themselves in any unlawful matter and divert themselves from right path after it has been revealed to them.

We must never forget the Day of Judgment, keeping the fact in mind that one day we have to answer Allah.

As per our believe:
Every Soul Must Have the Taste of Death.

UNCERTAINITY OF LIFE:
“OH PEOPLE LEND ME AN ATTENTIVE EAR, FOR I KNOW WHETHER AFTER THIS YEAR I SHALL NEVER BE AMONGST YOU AGAIN “.

These words of prophet (p.b.u.h) first of all shows that attention needs permission. This is the most important moral value that our prophet has taught us.
Secondly, this life is uncertain, we do not know anything about our future lives that either we would be alive at next moment or not.

“No one knows what he will earn tomorrow.” (31: 34)
LIFE AND PROPERTY OF EVERY MUSLIM IS SACRED TRUST:
“OH PEOPLE, JUST AS YOU REGARD, THIS DAY, THIS MONTH, THIS CITY AS SACRED SO REGARD THE LIFE AND THE PROPERTY OF EVERY MUSLIM AS A SACRED TRUST RETURN THE GOODS ENTRUSTED TO YOU TO THEIR RIGHTFUL OWNERS”
These words of sermon highlights the right of every person over the other that for every Muslim the property and the life of other Muslim is HARAM that is he has no right over any stuff of his Muslim brother without his permission. This means that Islam is the religion that not only guide towards right path but also protects its follower and make sure that they are not deprived of their rights.

Prophet Mohammad (P.B.U.H) clearly have shown sanctity of life and property and the importance of considering your companions who are Muslim as a sanctified trust. We all should learn and admiration of humanity because our outlook towards others reflects our inner soul. It’s our responsibility to take care of someone’s belongings if we are made responsible to. If we try to betray them (khayanat) in anyway either by lying or stealing or causing some harm to other’s property, we shall be answerable to Allah on the day of judgment. And remember that Allah may forgive His rights but will not forgive the rights of His believer.

REMEMBRANCE OF HEREAFTER (AKHIRAH):
“REMEMBER THAT YOU WILL INDEED MEET ALLAH, AND THAT HE WILL INDEED RECKON YOUR DEEDS ”
These words clearly signify that we should always remember our meeting with ALLAH that is on the day when everything of this world would be destroyed and we would be facing the creator and giving answer of all our doings that we did during our life in this world. also these words have clear massage for every individual of this world that on that day no one would be treated unjustly.
According to QURAN:
“HE GIVES LIFE AND CAUSE DEATH, AND TO HIM YOU WILL BE RETURNED “(10:56).

FORBIDANCE OF RIBA (INTEREST):
“ALLAH HAS FORBIDDEN YOU TO TAKE RIBA’, USURY (INTEREST), THEREFORE ALL THE INTEREST OBLIGATION SHALL HENCE FORTH MUST BE WAIVED, YOUR CAPITAL IS YOURS TO KEEP. YOU WILL NEITHER INFLICT NOR SUFFER INEQUITY”.
Interest is a very questionable social issue as due to it a person who is rich become more rich while poor will suffer more. As Islam is the religion which is the higher supporter of equality and condemns all kind of discrimination so Prophet (p.b.u.h) in his last sermon forbade all the Muslims from taking interest (He used the word ‘RIBA’). And also every person owns his property and no one have any share on others property. Interest is a kind of slavery which is forbidden in Islam.

From Holy QURAN:
“O ye who believe! Fear Allah, and give up what remains of your demand for usury, if ye are indeed believers.   (2:278).

That they took usury, though they were forbidden; and that they devoured men´s substance wrongfully; – we have prepared for those among them who reject faith a grievous punishment.  (4:161).

BEWARE OF SATAN, THE ENEMY:
“BEWARE OF SATAN FOR THE SAFETY OF YOUR RELIGION. HE HAS LOST ALL HOPE THAT HE WILL EVER BE ABLE TO LEAD YOU ASTRAY IN BIG THINGS, SO BEWARE OF FOLLOWING IN SMALL THINGS”.

According to these words Satan is the enemy of a man, that invokes him in bad deeds and may mislead him from the right path. Holy prophet (p.b.u.h) has warned us from the intentions of Satan who was once a good and a pious follower of ALLAH but he changed his path so the prophet (p.b.u.h) warned every Muslim to beware from Satan who is the biggest enemy of the believers of ALLAH, he may mislead them from right path just like he went away from it.

He forces a person to do bad deeds and invokes worst kind of situations which finally leads to a person finding solution by worst means. To protect your religion, you must keep yourself away from immoral actions so that Satan doesn’t find any way of drifting your mind from your present moment and also involving you in things the things which are forbidden in Islam.

WOMEN RIGHTS:
O PEOPLE, IT IS TRUE THAT YOU HAVE CERTAIN RIGHTS WITH REGARD TO YOUR WOMEN BUT THEY ALSO HAVE RIGHT ON YOU. REMEMBER YOU HAVE TAKEN THEM AS YOUR WIVES AS UNDER ALLAH’S TRUST AND WITH HIS PERMISSION. IF THEY ABDIE BY YOUR RIGHTS, THEN TO THEM BELONGS THE RIGHT TO BE FED AND CLOTHED IN KINDNESS. DO TREAT YOUR WOMEN WELL AND BE KIND TO THEM FOR THEY ARE YOUR PARTNERS AND COMITTED HELPERS.”
As Islam holds right for every being of this world, it has set up some rights for women as well. Before Islam women were treated as disrespected creatures and were deprived of their rights.

Islam and this sermon proved to be the charter of human rights and that according their principle no human being would be deprived of their rights.

Islam is the first religion which gave due respect to womenfolk and has always kept a balance amongst the rights of husband and wife.

It is the duty of man to earn and fulfill the basic needs of his family i.e. cloth, shelter, food. Women are to be respected and treated very kindly because they are the ones whom you married under Allah’s trust and these are the women who stay loyal and help you in every aspect throughout your life. They are not born to be degraded or suppressed. They shouldn’t be treated badly or considered inferior. Whoever does so, he will be punished by ALLAH.
Protection of woman is also a duty of her man. A husband should make sure that his wife doesn’t allow any other man to sit on his bed whom he does not like. But even if she does so, a man has the complete right to chastise her woman but not severely.
As in QURAN:
“Treat them politely even if you dislike them, perhaps you dislike something in which God has placed much good” (4:19)
“Provide for them the rich according to his income and the poor according to his means, a provision according to the custom. This is an obligation for those who act kindly” (2:236).

 REMINDER OF FUNDAMENTALS:
“LISTEN TO ME, IN EARNEST WOSHIP ALLAH, PERFORM YOUR FIVE DAILY PRAYERS (SALAH), FAST DURING THE MONTH OF RAMADAN, AND OFFER ZAKAT AND HAJJ IF YOU HAVE MEANS”.

I this part of sermon Prophet Mohammad (p.b.u.h) has reminded each Muslim about their fundamentals. The first and the foremost is the believe in oneness of Allah (TAUHEED). As being a Muslim, it is their duty which obligatory that is to perform 5 prayers on daily basis which are termed as SALAH along with this keeping fast in the month of RAMADAN is obligatory for them. And if they have proper means and they fulfill the nisaab set up in Islam then it is obligatory and compulsory for them to give charity(ZAKAT) and visit ALLAH’s house i.e. perform HAJJ with all its parts.

“And establish the prescribed prayer, practice regular charity and bow down with those who bow down” (2: 43)
“Oh you who believe, fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you that you may learn self-restraint” (2: 183).

RACISM AND DOUBLE STANDARDS:
“ALL MAN KIND IS FROM ADAM AND EVE AN ARAB HAS NO SUPERIORITY OVER NON ARAB, NOR A NON ARAB HAS ANY SUPERIORITY OVER AN ARAB WHITE HAS NO SUPERIORITY OVER BLACK, NOR DOES A BLACK HAS SUPRIORITY OVER WHITE EXCEPT PIETY AND GOOD ACTIONS “.

These words of Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) clearly indicates that Islam is the least discriminant religion. It does not support any discrimination on the basis of race, caste, creed, culture. The only superior is the one who is pious and who observes TAQWAA. Every person is the upbringing of hazrat Adam and Bibi Hawwa.

He strictly warned all the people to not to call themselves superior over another person. Islam has clearly highlighted that what distinguishes people from one another is not their complexion, caste, creed; it’s rather their piety including the devotion and love for Allah.
People nowadays differentiate among one another on the basis of ethnicity which is completely wrong. In the eyes of Allah, superior is the one who is pious and does more and more good deeds. Racism has no meaning in Islam. Everyone stands equal in front of Allah.
“The most honored among you in the sight of God is (he who is) the most righteous of you and God has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things)” (49:134)
BROTHERHOOD:
“LEARN THAT EVERY MUSLIM IS BROTHER TO OTHER AND THAT MUSLIM CONSTITUTE ONE BROTHERHOOD “.

Since the terribly starting Islam has preached regarding brotherhood. Its best example was ordered by Ansars and Muhajirs at the time of migration from MECCA to Medina, this can be a singular event in Muslim history, the equivalent that can be found elsewhere.

The verses of Al-Qur’an state that each person of humankind is originated from the constant combine of male and female and therefore possess brotherhood. Human bond being infused amorously, heat and tenderness is what Brotherhood is obligatory in Islam as it ends up in equality
JUSTICE:
“NOTHING SHALL BE LEGITIMATE TO A MUSLIM WHICH BELONG TO OTHER MUSLIM UNLESS IT WAS GIVEN FREELY AND WILLINGLY, DO NOT, THEREFORE, DO INJUSTICE TO YOUR SELF”
Islam being a religion became widespread throughout the world just because of its moral values and its principles of right for every person in the world without any discrimination. Just like this the justice in Islam became one of the reason that Islam has became the most loved religion in the world.

Islam condemns every kind of injustice not only for its followers but also for other people as well these words of Allah’s Prophet signifies that every person has a right of justice and owning their good and also no other person has any right on the belongings of his fellow until or unless that person is willing to give or provide you his belonging or good
As per according to Holy Quran:
“O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm in justice, witnesses for Allah, even if it be against yourselves or parents and relatives. Whether one is rich or poor, Allah is more worthy of both. So follow not personal inclination, lest you not be just. And if you distort your testimony or refuse to give it, then indeed Allah is ever, with what you do, Acquainted.”
(29: 130).

SOURCES OF GUIDANCE:
“I LEAVE BEHIND ME TWO THINGS, THE QURAN AND SUNNAH, IF YOU WILL FOLLOW THESE YOU WILL NEVER GO ASTRAY”.

In this part of sermon prophet (p.b.u.h) has clearly shown us the sources that will guide us to the right path and if we seek guidance from any other sources than we will definitely get away from the path which is righteous and in which lies the happiness of Almighty Allah.

Moreover, in our lives if we found an y difficulty regarding any of the matter of our life then we may consult these sources that is Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h). definitely these are the sources from Allah and they are the true guidelines as prescribed by the creator.

“And thus have We sent the Qur’an down as verses of clear evidence and because Allah guides whom He intends.” Quran (22:16)
This is the Book; in it is guidance sure, without doubt, to those who fear Allah. (2:2)
FINALITY OF PROPHETHOOD:
“O PEOPLE! NO PROPHET WILL COME AFTER ME,AND NO NEW FAITH WILL BE BORN ”
Prophet (P.B.U.H) declared within the last sermon that he’s the last prophet of Supreme Being and there’ll be no prophet when him. Whoever claims to be the prophet when him are going to be called false prophet. He additionally mentioned that his mission was to unfold he teachings of Islam and currently He has accomplished his mission.
Allah descended the entire religious writing on Hazrat Mohammad (P.B.U.H) within the period of twenty-three years. within the Holy book area unit mentioned all the commands of Supreme Being that a personal should follow if he/she needs to achieve this world or within the world hereafter.

Prophet Mohammad (P.B.U.H) showed Muslims the correct path. He radio-controlled them through his actions and his words each. He incontestable all the commands of Supreme Being. He lived his life in keeping with the teachings of Islam Associate in Nursing therefore created an example for the entire humankind. If we have a tendency to follow him and life our life precisely the manner he has schooled North American nation, we are going to ne’er get distracted by Old Nick and can succeed.
“O people! Muhammad has no sons among ye men, but verily, he is the Apostle of God and the last Prophets: Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but (he is) the Messenger of Allah, and the Seal of the Prophets: and Allah has full knowledge of all things. “(33:40)
“The chain of Messengers and Prophets has come to an end. There shall be no Messenger nor Prophet after me.in the line of Prophets. And God is Aware of everything”.
(Tirmidhi, Musnad Ahmad, Anas bin Malik)

SUMMARY OF THESIS

For the guidance of mankind Allah has sent down his messengers and prophets out of those Hazrat Mohammad (p.b.u.h) is his last prophet to convey HIS message to his creatures .

Hazrat Mohammad (p.b.u.h) was revealed with the Holy book by ALLA namely Qur’an which is the book of guidance for a man kind. the whole life of Prophet (p.b.u.h) was a message but at the occasion of his LAST SERMON or FAREWELL SERMON he delivered his famous sermon (KHUTHBAH) famously known as “HAJJAT-UL-WIDAA’s KHUTHBAH”.

In this sermon HAZRAT MOHAMMAD (p.b.u.h) addresses whole mankind and guided them about how to spend their lives after him.

He guided them to abstain from ribaa (interest), falsehood, racism and double standards as mentioned above.

If one tries to adapt all of them and preach them too, he/she can ne’er wide from the proper path. Prophet MOHAMMAD (P.B.U.H) has radio-controlled all the individuals by implementing what Allah has asked a man for through religious writing and revelation. we have a tendency to solely need to mould ourselves in line with what Our Prophet (P.B.U.H) has done and strictly follow his method of life. If we have a tendency to do therefore, we’ll achieve success during this world and therefore the world hereafter.
