when talking to children or young people staff should think about the age of the pupil to ensure adaption is being made. This could range from children aged 4 years within a nursery up until 11 years when they get to year 6 so this is essential this is maintained. This could be adapted by changing wording that is being used such as simple vocabulary for younger children and widening it for other children. It is important to be aware of the age group, different characters that may be within the class to ensure that you are gauging with every child. Younger children may need more encouragement, maybe more so when their first starting school until they begin to learn their surroundings. They may be shy and timid at first when they start making relationships and have bonds with staff this helps them to express themselves.
