Within our care setting all our care plans are locked in a filing cabinet in our manager’s office

Within our care setting all our care plans are locked in a filing cabinet in our manager’s office. This is to ensure the security of each of our resident’s personal information. We do not leave any personal information, care plans or daily logs available on sides or tables as this would breach our security and storing of personal information.
Within the care setting we have to keep all our records up to date by writing accurate accounts of events using language that is appropriate and legible, you should not use jargon. You should only use facts not opinions in the records. All records should be dated and signed by the person. The records should be maintained within the residents care plan.
Care plans should be kept in a locked filing cabinet this is to maintain confidentiality.
